How its done

The performances, (unless otherwise noted) are synthesized. Accomplishing this is possible with the thanks of some handy software.

I do all the composing and scoring in Finale. Once that is complete I save the file as MIDI (each staff a separate track). I then import the MIDI file into Cubase where the mixing and editing is done. For the Choir, I use EastWest’s Symphonic Choirs. This allows me to add the words to each part. Getting the right pronunciation or getting it as close as possible does takes some work but it brings the piece to life.. Once complete, I then mix the parts for balance. While the “Choirs” software can be used directly with Finale, I find that I can mix and touch up the files easier in Cubase. It’s a matter of preference really. If the piece calls for instrumentation I use EastWest’s Symphonic or Hollywood Orchestra Opus Ed..
