I have always had a passion for classical music, choral music in particular.
I grew up playing guitar and loved to sing. I learned to love choral music in High School thanks to Marilyn Charm in London and Eddie Quaid in Houston.
I studied choral music at McMurry College in Abilene, TX. I studied conducting under the tutelage of Betty Karol Wilson and George Biffle. I studied theory and composition with John Gibson, and voice with Cheryl Allen. From there I spent a brief time in graduate studies at TCU where I studied voice with Vincent Russo, Sheila Allen, and choral music with Ronald Shirey. I also studied theory and composition at Berklee with Eric Byers, Joe Mulholland, Rick McLaughlin, and Kari Juusela.
On the performance side I have been fortunate to sing with Houston Symphony Chorus under the direction of Charles Haussmann with performances conducted by Sergiu Comissiona, and Christoph Eschenback. I also spent time as a member of Schola Cantorum of Texas under the direction of Gary Ebensberger, and Donald Bailey.
While my career has not been in the music world, I keep my passion alive by staying as musically active as possible. I conducted church choirs for 12 years, but have more recently focused my attention on composing.
This site is an opportunity to share some of what I have written. While not extensive (yet), I hope you enjoy what you hear.
